New Sharkwise Shots

New spectaculair shots have been added to the gallery, after the second trip to South Africa. The Great White is a hesitant, reserved creature, that cannot be easily approached for photographs. Unlike its image of the 'ever-attacking' man-eater, this predator is a careful, selective hunter.
Sharkwise, a documentary about great whites and other shark species, will be in European cinemas around March 2010.

Ocean Sensation: The Exposition

The fourth of July was a day of celebration for Peter! His first major solo expedition was opened in the 'Muzee' in The Hague.
The Muzee is a 'sea' museum, located in a beautifully restored old school building, close to Scheveningen's bustling boulevard.
The expedition shows 50 splendid pictures on large and very large format.
Kids just love it: they are utterly fascinated by the shark pictures. To many visitors, it is as if a visit to the exposition is a visit to the underwater world itself. Comments vary from 'woooow' to 'I never realised it was so beautiful under water'.

So far, there have been publications in a number of local and national newspapers, on many websites, and Peter has been interviewed for the radio. The exposition can be visited until January 10th, 2010, as it has been continued!

Seychelles Supershots

When South African organisation Great Plains invited Peter to their fabulous islands Alphonse and Desroches to take pictures for their website/brochures, we travelled to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean off the coast of East-Africa. Around the islands, we encountered the clearest waters ever.
Many travel brochures promise endless visibility, but here we actually found it!
Alphonse is a wonderful place that takes you back to former times with its old coconut plantation and tranquil atmosphere. It is close to the atoll of St. Francois with its world-famous flyfishing opportunities. Alphonse Island Resort is currently being refurbished, and will be open to visitors again in 2010.
There is a wonderful fringing reef, with some world-class divespots.
Desroches is different from Alphonse and much larger, with a fully functional, sophisticated resort and spa, great beaches, an old plantation and great dive spots and wonderful caves.

We received a warm welcome on both locations, and met a lot of wonderful people. Thanks to you all, for creating so many opportunities for taking wonderful pictures!
